Flatbed Transport in Kent & Nationwide
Specialist Haulage for Oversized, Heavy & Awkward Loads Across the UK
When a load is too large, too heavy or too awkward to transport in an enclosed vehicle, a flatbed trailer is the right solution. South East Haulage operates a flatbed trailer specifically for loads that fall outside the scope of standard haulage — oversized machinery, long materials, construction equipment and anything else that simply will not fit in a box. If you have a challenging load that needs moving, we have the vehicle and the experience to handle it safely and efficiently.

What Is Flatbed Transport Used For?
Flatbed transport is the preferred choice for loads that cannot be contained within an enclosed vehicle. Common uses include:
- Heavy plant and construction machinery
- Agricultural equipment and implements
- Steel beams, pipes and long materials
- Prefabricated building components
- Industrial equipment and large fabrications
- Oversized loads requiring open access for loading by crane or forklift
- Palletised goods too large or heavy for a standard vehicle
If your load does not fit the description above but you think flatbed might be the right option, just call us and we will give you an honest assessment.
Full Load Securing as Standard
Every load we carry on our flatbed is properly secured before we move. We use appropriate strapping, chaining and blocking methods depending on the nature of the load, and nothing leaves our yard until we are satisfied it is safe and compliant for road transport. The safety of our drivers, other road users and your load is our absolute priority on every job.
Oversized & Out-of-Gauge Loads
Some loads exceed standard vehicle dimensions in length, width or height. Our flatbed trailer is well suited to out-of-gauge loads that would be impossible to carry in a curtainsider or box vehicle. If your load requires special consideration due to its size, we will discuss the requirements with you in advance and ensure the job is planned and executed correctly.
Working Alongside Our Hiab Service
For loads that need to be lifted as well as transported, our flatbed works particularly well in combination with our Hiab crane lorry. The Hiab can lift your load onto the flatbed at the collection point and lift it off again at the destination — making it a complete solution for heavy or awkward items that require crane assistance at both ends. Ask us about combining both services for a single, cost-effective solution.
Construction & Industrial Haulage
South East Haulage regularly works with construction companies, plant hire firms and industrial businesses that need reliable, professional flatbed haulage on a planned or ad-hoc basis. Whether you need a one-off movement or a regular contract arrangement, we are happy to discuss your requirements and put together a solution that works for your business.
